Hotel Royal

Very pleasant and friendly hotel in a great location close to the railway station. There is a lovely park just a short stroll away, perfect for a picnic on a sunny day. The breakfasts were good. We especially enjoyed the free tea/coffee and cakes provided in the reception area and there were comfortable lounges to sit in.

Excellent location, close to the train station and airport bus station, in the shopping area with the small streets, you won't get bored. Lidl and other supermarkets are very close. Super clean, the bathroom was shining. The solo room is big enough, the bed is comfortable and I liked the extra blanket. I turned off the air conditioner, I didn't need it in september. The hotel looks better than in the photos, is a very charming building. The swidish staff and people in general are nice, friendly, warm, I was surprised to see this, as I was expecting them to be more like germans, cold people. They have an WMF espresso machine in the hallway downstairs and you can serve yourself bio/organic tea and coffee/cappucino and cinamon cake for free. The breakfast was great, way better than what I am used to, the german breakfast. I liked the baked potatoes and the cooked vegetables in cream sauce, the SENCHA tea, the freshly cooked waffles. They even have gluten free bread(and it tastes good), cookies, cereals,etc and also lactose free milk, oat milk. I will book this hotel again if I come back. Thank you for the great stay.

The room is very cozy, clean and well laid out. The hotel is located next to the train station, in the city center, surrounded by many large shopping malls for shopping and dining. The hotel's decoration is also very beautiful and retro. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel's breakfast is very delicious, with a wide variety of options, and you can make your own waffles. There is a bakery and beverage in the lobby, which tastes very good. This hotel is very cost-effective. If I come to Gothenburg next time, I will definitely book this hotel again.

This hotel is simply fantastic. Very welcoming, both in terms of building and personnel. It's an old hotel, in classic style, but very well maintained, freshly painted, etc. The room was very reasonably sized. Breakfast is excellent, good choice, caters to people needing to eat gluten- or lactose-free as well. There's always fresh fruit too! It has an inner yard where you can sit for breakfast. Nice little lobby, tea, coffee and cake available during the day. The street is quiet, but the location is very central (shops and sightseeing). I would certainly stay here again!

Coming back to our room each day felt like coming home. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, a superior double, was very spacious with a comfortable lounge, armchair and desk. The whole hotel was stylishly decorated. Thought had gone into the bathroom design making it very functional. It had a walk in shower, double basins, plenty of storage space for shower bags and towels, good ventilation via a window and it even had a hook that could be used to hang the hairdryer. We loved the coffee, tea and cake that was provided each afternoon and enjoyed using the lovely sitting areas in which to have it. There was plenty of choice at breakfast which was provided in a tastefully styled dining room.
