Outstanding. Old world charm combined with old school service. A beautiful foyer, tea/coffee room with daily complimentary cake or sweets, guest lounges. wonderful staircases and corridors. Rooms are tastefully refurbished with large bathroom & full sized bath. Best breakfast of our holiday - you must try the waffle maker! Our favourite hotel this holiday. Very close to central station.

The hotel offers an old-fashioned but very cozy vibe, nothing compared with the more modern chain hotels. The location is great, right in the middle of the city, but in a quiet street, which makes the hotel specially quiet. The room was really clean, and though small, it was great for a short stay. The curtains and sun screen blocks the light very well. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is maybe the best I've ever eaten in a hotel. I will definitely come back!

In a nutshell, everything was perfect. The hotel is located in the center. The central train station, restaurants, touristic places are all in walking distance. I stayed in a single room and the room was large enough for a single person. The hotel has a historic ambiance, but the materials and furnishings are not old. The room and hotel were extremely clean. The bed was comfortable. There was no noise from outside. Breakfast included a variety of options and was excellent. There was always free tea, coffee and cake in the lobby containing very comfortable and peaceful sitting areas.

This is a historic hotel run by a family who really cares. It’s conveniently located, really close to the train station. It’s cute and they offer coffee and snacks all day. The staff are super friendly. They have great suggestions and are always smiling. The breakfast was yummy.

The hotel has an old world charm and really warm ambience. The decor reminds of an old family home. There is a small outdoor section that is nice to sit when the weather permits. The personnel were courteous and quick to act on every request. The hotel keeps a small complimentary coffee section, with fresh cakes baked daily, which was one of the most special features of this hotel. Breakfast was good, with most of the items made fresh at the hotel. Excellent quality of food served. Overall a great stay.

Hotel Royal is an historical, private-owned and managed hotel, outside of the hotel companies and chains. As such, it maintains a certain personality, which is a plus. The building itself is old but very well kept; the interior decor is pleasant, although some parts would need a bit of re-thinking. Welcoming, kind and available, the staff is very pleasant and friendly. a permanent coffee and tea corner is available in the lobby, which is another plus. The room (double with single beds) was large and equipped with adequate services. Breakfast offers a wide choice of food in a pleasant area. The hotel is located very close to the central train station, and to a number of bus and tram stops, which is a great added value, considering that in Göteborg public transportation is one of the best ever experienced! and the city centre is just 5 minutes of walking afar. Price is fair.

Lovely hotel - oldest in Gothenburg but not at all dated. Loved the availability of tea/coffee and cake from early afternoon till night. Excellent breakfast and very relaxed - no room in the breakfast area? Take your food to a comfortable seat in the lounge. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Hotel was quirky in a good way. Great location.

This is pitch perfect from excellent location, super nice and helpful staffs (who insist I don’t have to tip…Just give a good review, which I am doing right now), and I really appreciate the delicious freshly baked cakes that are available even late into the night. The room is compact but beautiful.

The location was perfect for catching trains and trams, walking around, and going to good restaurants. The staff was super helpful, and the computer in the lobby was a great resource in booking fun excursions. The lack of a hot water kettle in the room is mitigated by free tea and coffee in the comfortable lobby.

Beautiful interior, we got all necessary facilities, the staff hospitality is exceptional (I usually don’t expect any friendliness from the staff in any hotels in Sweden so this hotel blew my mind!), excellent location right in the city center which is super convenient to commute, waffle in the breakfast is yummy, there is also air-cond. for warm days in summer.
